Within the blighted swamplands of Urngor, specifically in the sickened waters of Athilalurûn, resides a formidable threat known as the Marshathraxa. These living algae have adapted into a colonial form, forming towering structures of rigid green flesh adorned with gaping orifices that incessantly drool poisonous ichor. Each orifice is equipped with lengthy tendrils capable of propelling the toxic substance at great velocity and range. The Marshathraxa serve as a persistent source of corruption, one that the Dwellers of the Stream, the Alus Soeh, are committed to purging as part of their sacred Oaths in remembrance of the lost Nar Tilith.
The Marshathraxa display nearly mindless behavior, continuously roaming the swamplands and spreading the corruption they embody. They ruthlessly attack any living fauna that crosses their path, demonstrating a calculated menace particularly towards the Elves and other adventurers who venture into the region. Their ability to project poison with their tendrils makes them formidable from a distance, and their relentless nature and hostility make them a significant threat.
Of particular concern is the Marshathraxa's method of reproduction through mitosis. With this process, they are able to maintain their numbers and perpetuate their existence. This form of reproduction allows the Marshathraxa to multiply and persist within the swamplands, posing a continuous challenge for the Elves and those who seek to combat the corruption of the Time of the Shattering.
Encounters with the Marshathraxa should be approached with caution and met with appropriate measures to protect against their poisonous attacks.
