Vihreiden Maat, Land of the Green

Nestled within the picturesque Matala Askel valley, west of the central point of the Sylwelsa Plains in Anaias, lies the ancient Gnomish community of Vihreiden Maat. This unique settlement is a harmonious fusion of Rautavarasto engineering and Gnomish culture, creating a vibrant and bustling community. Located just a few dozen miles south of the Salohíl-Ar Road, Vihreiden Maat is easily accessible via the Vaeltava Joki Road, the main thoroughfare connecting the community to the outside world. The original colony was built within the third century of the First Age, but no single Gnome could tell you more than old legends on the founding of the city.

Vihreiden Maat encompasses a sprawling landscape that includes adjoining farmlands, artisans' hovels, and stores specializing in grains and preserved meats. The Gnomes have a deep appreciation for culinary arts and brewing, with a significant number of establishments dedicated to the kitchens, breweries, and dining rooms of the renowned Feasting Guild. These legendary culinary artists and brewmasters contribute to the rich gastronomic traditions of the community, creating delectable delicacies and unique brews that are highly sought after throughout the region.

While Gnomes in Vihreiden Maat have the freedom to pursue various occupations, most choose to embrace the cultural expectations and traditions of the greater community. The primary trade partners of Vihreiden Maat are the nearby cities of Baldor and Gevroran Thom. The community engages in trade, primarily offering preserved foodstuffs, cultural artworks, and the exceptional services of the Feasting Guild. Although the Gnomes are generally welcoming to visitors, it is uncommon to find individuals of other races taking up permanent residence within the community, preserving its distinct Gnomish character.

The governance of Vihreiden Maat is overseen by a City Council, led by the Burgomaster, who holds the highest position of authority. The Burgomaster and other council members are elected by the community every third year, ensuring a fair representation of the Gnomish population. Adjudicators and constables, responsible for maintaining law and order within the community, support the City Council. While major disturbances or criminal activities are rare in Vihreiden Maat, minor instances of disorderly conduct may occasionally arise, often involving individuals who have indulged in a bit too much of the community's exceptional brews or occasional disputes between landowners.

Vihreiden Maat stands as a testament to the enduring spirit and rich cultural heritage of the Gnomish people, offering a warm and inviting environment where culinary artistry, craftsmanship, and communal harmony flourish. Visitors to this vibrant community are treated to a unique blend of Rautavarasto engineering marvels and the whimsical charm of Gnomish culture.
