History of Anaias
In the beginning, the enigmatic deities calling themselves the Foundry gathered in the vast space between worlds of the Prime Material Plane to bring about a world formed from a tangible essence of magic known as mana.
To facilitate the use of this essence, they formed six stones from the essences of the Elemental Planes, the Negative Material Plane, and the Positive Material Plane, binding them into prismatic jewels of the purest form; these are the Elemental Mana Stones. Next, they formed six complementary stones of Influence: the Ethereal, the Material, the Mundane, and the Arcane with the counter balances of Brotherhood and Enmity. To each of these Mana Stones, the Foundry uttered a syllable to form runes, giving them names and setting their place in the world. From these Mana Stones did the Foundry forge the bones of the world.
The first of the Foundry to strike in the heart of the molten forge-mountain, called Anaias, was the Forge Undying, her great strength harnessing the Stone of Ful, the elemental essence of flame, forging the flows of molten earth into the bones of the world, its tectonic plates shifting wildly from their restless drifting among the seas of magma beneath. It was from the Refracted Eye tapping the power of the Stone of Vi, the essence of water, to bring forth waves of cooling waters to quench the brightly glowing yellow-orange plates, locking them in place. The Forge Undying then harnessed the power of the Stone of Ya, the elemental essence of stone, to draw, punch, and upset the shape of the lands. After these cooled and the oceans settled, the Forge Undying withdrew to rest.
The Refracted Eye continued to sculpt across the face of the newly formed lands to bring springs and lakes, fed by rivers and tributaries leading to the vast oceans. In the wake of the lands and waters coming to rest, the Courier Enshrouded drew in a deep breath from the Stone of Oh, the elemental essence of wind, and blew out the winds from the four corners, giving life to the currents and casting weather into the world. The Primordial Sage harnessed the powers of the Stone of Vi and the Stone of Ya to bring life into the realm, of plants and fungus, of beasts of land, sea, and air. From this work did the Primordial Sage, Refracted Eye, and Courier Enshrouded come to rest.
The darkness of the Pariah Feint could not be escaped by this nascent world and its life, harnessing the power of the Stone of Des, the elemental essence of negative energy, cursing the world and its life with mortality, striking hunger and disease into the fiber of all created. His will was unchallenged by the others of the Foundry, the entropy of all rampaged unchecked. The Vexation Undone then cast the power of the Stone of Zo, the elemental essence of positive energy, into the world to stem the unchecked decay through the flows of Time and Fate. Thus did the world exist, a realm of life balanced with eventual mortality, tempered by Time and Fate. The Pariah Feint and the Vexation Undone came to rest with their fellows.
In the days that would come, the Foundry discussed among themselves the peoples that would fill the world, completing their enigmatic experiment. Each would have their say and all would be bound in the creation of the final sentient to rise.
